(29 Dec 2015) Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in Istanbul on Tuesday to protest against curfews and clashes in the southeast of Turkey, where the military has ramped up operations against Kurdish militants.
Turkey's biggest unions called for the rally to take place.
Periodic clashes have erupted between government forces and Kurdish opposition fighters since peace talks collapsed in July.
Security forces launched a large-scale operation last week, which they said aimed to rout militants linked to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
They claim 210 militants have been killed.
Tens of thousands of civilians in southeast Turkey have been caught in the middle as government forces and Kurdish militants battle it out in urban areas.
