A Coaching Superpower - Charisma, and Yes, You Can Develop It!
People still often say that you either have or don’t have charisma.
Not true.
You can develop it.
I believe it’s a ? characteristic of great coaches and one worthwhile spending a lot of time building.
The book ? “Charisma Myth” (which I highly recommend btw), it goes into the 3 things that build Charisma:
1️⃣ Presence
2️⃣ Power
3️⃣ Warmth
There are behaviors that you can practice on the daily to learn charisma, whether it’s practicing charismatic first impressions:
▶️ Compliment something someone is wearing.
▶️ Ask open ended questions: “What’s the story behind that, where is from, etc?
▶️ Using lingo to relate to what people are interested in.
▶️ Speak about positive topics.
▶️ Make people feel good when you speak to them.
▶️ Use metaphors and create images.
I could go on and on about different practices in the 3 sections. The great thing is that you can outline behaviors to practice to build your charisma as it’s something that is a game changer.
