Dr. Buchtel is social psychologist and a assistant professor at EdUHK, interested in how cultural background can influence ideas about morality and moral character. She received her PhD from the University of British Columbia and previously taught English in China. Assistant Professor Dr. Buchtel is a social psychologist who researches how our ideas about morality and moral character are influenced by our cultural background. She received her PhD in psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2009, and her B.A. from Yale University in 1999. In between, she spent four years in Changsha and Beijing, teaching English at the high school and university levels and learning Chinese.
