What I expected to be just another trendy surf spot turned out to have a surprisingly rural and laid back atmosphere, with quiet village roads, local cafes, friendly people and one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen in Indonesia. In this video I walk through the village, along the huge white sand beach and talk about why people keep calling Lombok “the new Bali” and whether that comparison actually makes any sense at all.
