I moved from the UK to Portugal in September 2025 and I'm still in awe that I get to live this life. In this video I'm sharing everything about my experience: how I got my D7 visa, finding an apartment in Setúbal, navigating the NIF, bank accounts, VFS appointments, and all the things I genuinely wish someone had told me before I arrived. This one's been a long time coming and I hope it helps even one person feel less overwhelmed by the process. ? ⚠️ A few important things before you watch: Everything I share in this video is based purely on my own personal experience of moving to Portugal. I am not a visa advisor, immigration lawyer, or financial advisor. Please do your own research and seek professional advice for your specific situation, because everyone's circumstances are genuinely different. Also - at the time of filming, I have not yet had my AIMA appointment, which means I do not yet have my residency card. I'm sharing my journey as it's happening, not as a completed process. I'll update you when I get there! What I cover in this video: --------- - Why I chose Portugal (and Setúbal specifically) - The D7 passive income visa — what it is and what I needed - My step-by-step timeline from May to September 2025 - The rental contract & bank account situation (it's a whole thing) - Booking a VFS appointment (spoiler: not easy) - Things I genuinely wish I'd known before moving ---------- TIMESTAMPS 00:00 - INTRO 1:21 - THE WHY 2:35 - THE HOW 4:13 - MY PROCESS 5:26 - TIMELINE 5:48 - NIF 6:12 - IDEALISTA & RENTING 9:38 - BANK ACCOUNT 11:18 - VFS 13:55 - AIMA 14:37 - THINGS I WISH I KNEW --- ? If you've been through this process or you're planning to move to Portugal, drop your questions or experiences in the comments — I'd love to hear from you. ? Don't forget to subscribe if you want to follow along with life in Portugal and everything I'm figuring out along the way. --- #MovingToPortugal #PortugalVisa #D7Visa #ExpatsAbroad #PortugalLife #MovingAbroad #UKToPortugal #SetubalPortugal #LifeAbroad #SelfAwareness ?
