Italy Digital Nomad Visa has launched! Back in 2022 Italy teased us with news of this visa and then said nothing. We didn’t know what it entailed or when it would be available. That was until April 5, 2024. Now that applications are open, here’s what you need to know. First off, since this visa is brand-spanking new, it’s gonna be the wild wild west as Consulates, the Italian government, and immigration lawyers go through this for the first time and iron things out. So be patient and maybe wait a few months until they’ve had some experience with applications and approvals. So this visa is for freelancers, the self-employed, and remote employees. Here are the Requirements: ? You need to have a college degree ⏳ Have at least 6 months of work experience in your field ? Make a minimum income of €28,000/year ? Have a clean background check ? Proof of accommodation in Italy ? Proof of private health insurance I love that dependents can join you, that means your spouse and kids under 18 years old. This Digital Nomad Visa is valid for one year and can be renewed. And the best new is that it also counts towards permanent residency. Apply at the Italian consulate in your country of residence.
