Rebeca, a computer engineering student in Brazil, went viral after turning her wedding preparation photos into something completely unexpected. With only a handful of women in her university program — reportedly just 4 women in a class of 60 students — Rebeca said she did not really have a traditional group of bridesmaids. So she improvised. Instead of bridal party photos with girlfriends, she invited her five closest male friends to step in for the shoot. She handed them matching pink silk robes, brought in a photographer, and turned the entire thing into chaos in the best possible way. According to her posts, the guys fully committed to the role. They helped with makeup, adjusted her dress, posed dramatically for photos, and even took celebratory shots together while laughing through most of the session. The groom reportedly spent much of the shoot standing nearby laughing at the situation himself. Later, during the wedding ceremony, all five friends reportedly became emotional and cried. Rebeca eventually shared the photos online with the caption: “When the bride doesn’t have any girlfriends, it’s time to call her bros. This is what happens to a girl in Computer Engineering.” The images spread widely because many people found the story funny, wholesome, and a surprisingly sweet reflection of friendship inside male dominated university programs.
