The city is buzzing with inspiring exhibitions and events all around town ?
We asked DesignMarch to pick 4 must-see exhibitions, and here's where they sent us:
? Watrwöol — Rammagerðin in Harpa:
Imaginative fashion design worthy of Björk! Created by multidisciplinary designer Monika Janina Kristjánsdóttir, Watrwöol experiments with natural fibers like seaweed and wool, and integrates recycled materials such as discarded fishnets. Techniques including felting, weaving, and digital fabrication honor traditional craftsmanship while embracing modern technology — reducing waste and celebrating environmental balance.
? Hlustaðu Nú — Fríða, Skólavörðustígur 18:
A creative jewelry exhibition born from a process not unlike the old game of "telephone." Each goldsmith begins with two pieces and passes them to the next — no one sees the full picture until the circle is complete. The results are surprising, playful, and wonderfully unpredictable.
? FLEY — Reykjastræti 6, Hafnartorg:
A group exhibition showcasing product design from multiple artists, from lighting to table settings and interior design. Organized by the Icelandic Association of Product and Industrial Designers, it features graduates with a BA or Master's in design from the past five years.
? Þræðir Tenginga — Norræna Húsið, Vatnsmýri:
The Nordic House hosts a curated series of showrooms featuring both emerging and established designers. Alongside the exhibition, expect panel talks, presentations, a dance performance, workshops, and tea ceremonies — all within a beautifully calm Nordic setting.
