Years ago, I did a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat. And one thing I learned there was that everything in life is impermanent. Feelings come and go. I've found this to be very helpful when a strong emotion like anger arises. If I'm lucid, aware of what's happening in the moment, I can catch myself before it's too late and say: oh, this is anger.
