favorite travel research technique: randomly roam different areas on Google maps- that’s how we came across Land of Medicine Buddha, a retreat center nestled in the forest in a small town, Soquel, CA First, we saw that it had a beautiful temple and prayer wheels around the property, Then, realized there’s hiking trails open to the public, Then, to my surprise, @land.of.medicine.buddha offered rooms to book. don’t expect luxury but the simplicity is comfortable for a place of healing, peace, and meditation. if you plan to stay here, respect the property, the staff, the other visitors and residents, and most importantly, yourself. •$175/night (fee varies depending on season and day of week booked) •continental breakfast, pool, sauna, parking included •1.5 hrs from SFO (San Francisco) •30 mins from Santa Cruz Wharf •15 mins from Capitola Beach ?
